How are the postage costs calculated?
As a new business we are continually assessing and improving our postage options on an annual basis to ensure our customers are getting a fair deal. Based on your comments from 2006 postage for 2007 will be charged in bandings based on your total sales amount. Overseas postage is charged at cost, therefore if you are not in the UK you must email me before payment and an accurate postage rate will be calculated for you.

Bandings for 2007-2008 UK postal charges are:
£0.01p-£15.00 = £1.50
£15.01-£30.00 = £2.95
£30.01-£50.00 = £3.95
£50.01-£70.00 = £4.95
£70.00 up = free of charge

How long can I expect to wait for my items?
Most parcels will be sent second class by Royal Mail within 48 hours of the order being received. We reserve the right to send a parcel by ParcelForce or Parcel Post if it is heavy and postage will significantly over-reach your postage contribution. IMPORTANT: If you wish the parcel to be insured i.e. replaceable if lost in the post, please add an extra £1.00 to your order and include a note with your order.

Who are Stimulus Learning Resources?
Stimulus Learning Resources is a small home run business that was set up by a home schooling mum who found it difficult to obtain the books needed to follow the hands-on approach to learning. Experience showed this approach to be the best way of achieving a high level of information retention when teaching - for all types of learners - it just had to be shared! Later we decided to supply the educational resources that we had found it difficult or expensive to buy. We are a new business and are attempting to make this site a real one stop shop for home educators and lap bookers but it will take time. We are adding new and exciting resources to the site often so please be patient and keep checking back.

We will endeavor to answer emails within 48 hours and will try and resolve any problems quickly. We are a small business and try to do our best, you are important to us so if you have a problem please tell us. If you are happy with our service please tell your friends.

What is Hands-On learning?
Hands-on learning is learning by doing. This has been taking place in education, both formal and informal, for years. Vocational education has always recognised that if you want someone to learn to repair a car, you need a car to repair. If you want to teach someone to cook, you put them in a kitchen. Whoever heard of teaching someone to swim in a traditional classroom? Likewise, I believe we are learning that in order to truly teach science, math etc we must "do" science and math etc. Hands-on learning involves the child in a total learning experience which enhances the child's ability to think and do encouraging them to become active participants in their education and not just passive learners.
